Who are we? WEEK 4

Here you can find five expressions with body parts, and  their meaning joined by examples:

To have got cold feet → abandom something due to anxiety or apprehension or doubt strong enough to prevent a planned course of action.
ex. I got cold feet when I learned the trip involves white-water rafting.

To give one's right arm→ be prepared to make a great sacrifice in order to do something.
ex. He would give his right arm to have a new house.

To live off the back of someone→ to exploit the labor of someone else to support one's own existence.
ex. This area has been living off the backs of migrant workers for years.

To close/shut one's ears to something→ refuse to listen to bad or unpleasant news.
ex. Please, listen to him, don't shut your ears to his warning!

To twisted someone round one's little finger→ have someone under one's influence.
ex. She can twist him round his little finger, so she will convince him to go to the party.

During this week, what I have done to improve my English skills is to read the novel for the literature course and also last Sunday I started to watch a series in its original version, which is "Peaky Blinders."
