Week 7: PERSUASION

I personally find this subject considerably interesting, since persuasion is a huge part of the language and plays an important role within the purposes of language as well. Therefore, I have tried to learn the most common expressions to persuade in order to be able to add it to my everyday vocabulary and to use it in my daily speech.

Thus, the expressions that I have found as the most useful have been the following ones:
- It’s crystal clear (I specially found this one attractive.
- No one but a complete idiot would believe that... (that's a quite convincing phrase)
- This needs to be dealt with...
- FREE (It's clear it is just a word but it's a catching word like no one else)
- Instantly (It happens the same with the previous word)

As well as persuasion, this week we have been also dealing with hypothesising, another essential element of language. Because of that, it is very important for us, the students, to learn it in a proper way.
Moreover, we all know that the simplest way of expressing hypothesis is using a conditional in the past, that is to say: "If you had told me..." for example and more structures similar to that one.
Differnt ways of expressing hypothesis are:
It is believed that...
It is said that...
People believe that...
It is supposed to have happened...
It might...
It  may have...
Probably...
It seems that...

And many more expressions that could be part of a long list of items to express hypothesis.

To end with thus post, I will say that this week I have finished a book that I started reading two months ago, and I came to the end at last! That is because I do not have too much free time, but in holidays I take advantage of time and I try to read books in English in order to improve my English and not to forget anything that I have learnt before. By the way, that book was called Wonder, I totally recommend it.

Bye-bye!
